In recognition of the under-representation of women on international arbitral tribunals, in 2015, members of the arbitration community drew up a Pledge to take action.
NZIAC signed the Pledge two years ago today on 6 June 2016.
Since 6 June 2016, NZIAC and its related domestic registry services have across the board appointed women as arbitrator or adjudicator in 43% of cases administered through our registries. These appointments reflect not only our ongoing commitment to gender diversity in private dispute resolution but, more importantly, the equal standing, capability, and experience of our female peers.
